Institute for Chinese Classical Culture Nankai University
The Institute for Chinese Classical Culture, co-established by the School of Literature and Professor Yeh Chia-ying of the Royal Roads University, has the researches and the spread of the Traditional Culture as main duties. Founded in January 1993, it has been formerly known as China Institute of Comparative Literature.
The Institute for Chinese Classical Culture accepted the contributions of the Canadian industrialist Cai Zhangge and the Macanese businessmen Shen Binghe; Professor Yeh personally donated 100,000 RMB to establish the funds for "poetry" academic activities and Yeh family’s "Tuo An" Scholarship.
The Institute for Chinese Classical Culture actively carried out international academic exchanges and academic cooperation activities, on one hand the use of the funds for "poetry" academic activities strengthened the international academic exchanges, on the other there have been long-term stable cooperation with foreign academic institutions regarding research major issues. In addition to a high level of academic researches, the Institute is also committed to the spread of classical poetry, the development of teaching poetry to young people and the training of teachers for primary and secondary schools. The short-term goal of the Institute is to build some Classical Poetry Research Centers and Data centers inside and outside the Country.
